SEE YOURSELF 2020 (20 Countries / 20 Stories / 1 Nation) is a remarkable two-story multidisciplinary experiential activation that features an unprecedented 3000 sq-ft exterior art installation on the Historic Lyric Theater. Nestled in the heart of Overtown, one of Miami’s oldest and most storied neighborhoods, the theater built in 1913 is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
The Activation features 20 COUNTRIES from my signature conceptual portrait series, YOUNG WORLD FACES on the exterior ranging from 14 to over 30 feet tall. On the interior an exhibition features fine art contemporary imagery from my Freetown Reborn: Axiom Of Beauty series. The large 6 feet by 4 feet fine art prints, captured in Sierra Leone West Africa, are displayed without a frame nor glass to create a personal in-depth experience for the viewer. To round out the triple-threat experience, the exhibition is accompanied by my documentary film featuring local Freetown youth-led NGO, AUCYAD.
This interactive presentation was produced in celebration of the 10th-anniversary of both FREETOWN REBORN: AXIOM OF BEAUTY and YOUNG WORLD FACES.
